All my jewellery is made to a high standard, and will happily deal with a drop of rain, but please don't wear it in the shower - wood and water are not the best of friends! Also do your best to keep it away from perfumes and cosmetics.

BIANCA ROSE WOOD

It’s easy to feel good about wearing jewellery made from recycled wood. Smaller pieces of this wonderful material are so often thrown away, all of the beautiful woods in my workshop were rescued from waste of one kind or another, many from my past life as a furniture maker. Cutting and shaping each pair by hand allows me to use pieces which it just wouldn't be possible to laser cut, and to waste as little as possible in the process.

The design is completely unique, the colour combination will be used again but it is painted freehand and no two pairs are ever the same.

This wood is from a fabulous piece of brown Oak, given to me many years ago by my woodwork teacher.  I decided a while ago that it far better suited being made into many pieces of precious jewellery than just one small piece of furniture.

This asymmetric shape of a square with two opposite rounded corners is a favourite of mine.  I like to work with simple geometric forms, cutting them and shaping by hand to round off some corners and soften edges.

Colour is something I'm really drawn to, and I’m always working to perfect my palette.  I tweak the shades, and combine them to complement the tones in the wood, and every now and then something new and delicious is added to the fold.

The blush pink,  aubergine and warm grey colours are hand painted onto the wood in the form of a stylised imaginary landscape. It's part of a collection inspired by my love of landscapes and the natural world.  I see real similarities between wood grain patterns and the contours of a map, or the visible strata of a rock formation.  Inspired by these natural lines I paint the the wood with layers creating colour block scenes.
